The War on Warbonnets.

While scrolling through my Instagram out of boredom, I noticed a local boutique wanting to find a blogger to promote their clothing. Instantly, I thought about reaching out, and just as quickly as I reached excitement, I was reminded that it might feel a tad bit like I was selling my soul. Why? Because the type of clothing they sell. This summer I got the idea that I would walk around Dillard’s, and take photos of any clothing that had Native American designs or inspiration. I got tired after I hit about thirty; that’s a problem. You’re using Thunderbird’s, “Aztec prints” which are really symbols used on our regalia, and after a while you realize you can’t fight everything. But there is one line in fashion that stores, hipsters, and others are continuously crossing…Warbonnets.

warbonnet“Whats that?” It’s that “chief headdress” on your shirt, in your picture, and what cheap replica you’re wearing on your head during a festival. Lets back up a bit, and discuss the exact cause and history on this very controversial, yet continuously ignored topic.

You see, a genocide happened right here in America. You flip open your history textbooks and they present numerous pages on what Hitler did, and to us that’s the only one we really remember. They skim over what they did to the people who were here because they know they’re guilty. I have little to no memory of ever discussing Native Americans in history class. This government was built upon genocide, I mean seriously, they put their effin’ faces on the sacred Black Hills that they stole, and wanted to sell back to us. Um, yea. Mount Rushmore? No. We really did try to get rid of anything in this country that wasn’t white. Don’t get offended if you’re white, you can’t help it, it’s just the facts. You can try to deny that all you want to, but the blood this country tried to build itself on has forever stained the ways of people now; and it’s not all great. Why is Native Culture so small? Because in the simplest terms, it was wiped the heck out.

woundedkneeWhy yes, they are standing over dead Natives.

So after this ignored American Holocaust against Indigenous people, a majority of American people who refuse to learn the culture are all about wearing it? Natives have been dehumanized so much. You take what we wore as spiritual clothing, and turned it into a successful yet cheap design for your boutique? You took a very sacred headdress, one many were denied to wear, and made it a costume? It’s not cool, its not nice, and it shows how much you know; nothing. I hear the people say, “I don’t mean it that way, I just thought it looked cool.” I think warbonnets are beautiful too, but I’m still not allowed to wear one. Our Native ancestors were punished for wearing them…but you get to? Nah. See, those headdresses were earned, just like certain military metals are earned; I don’t just get to wear one because they look cool.

trending

What can you do to help? First things first; stop supporting it. Yes, some of those shirts, and jewelry pieces are super “cute”, but don’t give in to culture appropriation. Second; do your research. Watch a documentary, get online, watch a Pow Wow video and see this culture for yourself. Maybe then when you see that these “Indians” are real, and not a fashion statement, you will gain an understanding. Third; make it known. Put it on Instagram, comment why it’s not cool, share your knowledge. You don’t have to be rude, but you do have to be brave. Lastly, if you love turquoise, moccasins, or beaded jewelry then find a Native Artist and support them. They are the real deal honey, and your every dollar counts.

Bottom line; this culture is not a trend. It’s very real, and I’m tired of fake turquoise, and crazy fake Warbonnets that have nothing to do with war, but only bad fashion. Rise up, and speak out.

Happy No Fashion Friday. What?!

I spent most of my day on sixth street, which is Route 66 for all you historians out there. This is not only a source of fantastic shopping (antiques), but inspiration because anyone knows I’m an old soul. Today though amidst my inspiration, I found myself questionable. It really is somewhat depressing to try on all these hats, gloves, and glance at amazing dresses, but to realize that they would sit on a shelf in my home. Why? Because when does this society ever dress up? We wait all year to wear our fancy shoes to the Nutcracker, or some other once in a lifetime event (we don’t even have dance halls anymore; just disgusting “clubs”), so when exactly would I wear these delicate items? What happened to fashion?

This society does not believe in class. Class is something that faded, and took fashion, big band night clubs, talented dancing, and the good times all with it. You see, with class comes respect, and respect for yourself. I can already hear debatable people asking, “How in the hell does looking fancy show respect for myself?” You are a reflection of how you feel. Did you know that everything in this life down to the literal breath you take is art? Really? Yes really. Those lungs were beautifully designed to reciprocate the oxygen your body needs to give you one of the most precious gifts, a breath of life. That is art. That is a masterpiece. Life IS art. Moving on, with this being stated, you are a walking portrait. We can’t help but pin pretty pictures of dresses, and guys cant help but swoon when the “Bond” girl comes on the screen in a ball gown, or when he see’s his prom date for the first time. You see, this is such a rare occurrence these days, seeing people “fancy.” It’s not just women, but men as well. Really guys? You weren’t excluded on this either. Dress up! I don’t know if it’s just the town I live in, but the Sophie shorts, Nike Shorts, pocket tee’s and sandals everywhere? Are you going TO or from a practice? Then I shouldn’t see it. The sweats? Pajama’s? I didn’t know your bed was in this building! No? Then WHY are you dressed for sleep? You see, I am a big believer in if you look good, then you will feel good. Put effort into you, and the effort will show through your actions. Effort doesn’t show with Tinkerbell fuzzy pants in public. I don’t give a shit if it’s at walmart.

fashioncollage

It’s so nice to see these ladies in dresses, these men in suits or button ups. SO NICE. It wasn’t a matter of money, occasion, sexual orientation, or time. It was a matter of respect for others, and themselves. We’ve become a society that loves to feed on comfort. Susie Q throws a fit, we don’t spank, we comfort. Little Bobby screams, so we promise a chocolate bar. We’re tired so we wear pajamas, and we also sit on Facebook. We don’t want to cook, so we take the family through the drive through. See? If its work, we want nothing of it.

Think really hard about your laziness, and to what degree its existing at. In all area’s now, society needs one big cleanup, and this week our clothes really bothered me. Get on Pinterest, and get inspired. Lets start changing little things about this day and age one area at a time! I would love to wear hats again, gloves, dresses on a weekday, and even a fur coat. Get inspired, spoil yourself, and respect yourself! Class is the only way.

coco

For those of you who are serious about this, Modcloth is a great way to get started or inspired. I have never seen such true vintage yet new pieces, and shopping becomes such fun on their site. No this isn’t sponsored, but a valid personal opinion. Lets go people!

Get Out of That Box!

I may not be able to pinpoint how I feel exactly lately, but I do know at least one emotion that has been consistently pumping through my veins all week; Anger. So much freaking anger just completely surrounds my world with situations, and with people…mainly how they decide to treat other people.

I follow this lovely vlogging couple on practically all social media (Anna-lee and Jesse) because they are adorable, smart, and creative. While scrolling through Jesse’s Instagram one of my other sleepless nights, I saw a picture of two dogs in which the caption was “retard club.” The dogs were being dogs, and Jesse was being funny. Jesse and Anna-lee both are constantly in the public’s eye, talking to people, giving advice, and successfully just showing who they are. Back to the picture. I noticed a ridiculous amount of people commenting that they were now unfollowing because of his word choice, how awful he was, he needed to be a better person, delete the picture…blah blah blah. Then you see Jesse’s reply to all of this. “It’s like you have to edit yourself until you are plain and boring to please everyone.” This stood out like a slap in the face because it’s what I’ve been wanting to scream all this week. I’m always on Pinterest (um, yea) and see all these lovely artsy quotes saying how much we need to be patient, not judge people, be ourselves, live life to the fullest, and live happily ever after. In a world so full of these thoughts that “be yourself, and screw everyone else!” we sure are criticizing every little bitty thing anyone ever does. We can’t show cleavage (you might get offended that your husband looked), we can’t take selfies (how awful that we love our makeup, or awesome beard that day!), we can’t support abortion (you have different religious views that you need to push onto us), we can’t use certain words, we can’t love the people we want to love, and we just can’t exist it seems like. I’m literally editing, touching up, walking on eggshells to make sure that I fit into society’s perfect little acceptable box. That box is an illusion.

letmelivecourtesy of Pinterest, of course.

After editing me, changing, feeling self-conscious, watching everything I say and do….I just give up. I give up, and choose to stop doing that because I am respecting me. It’s about respect, and it’s about kindness for all of you people in general. From what I hear for some of you Jesus followers (I know some pretty awesome ones) but I hear those are called Fruits of the Spirit in the Bible. Start working on them. There is a difference in an actual, horrible, and offensive person versus someone just trying to be a happy human. You don’t have to agree with what I do, what words I say, what I choose to put on my body, what selfies I take, or my spiritual views…but I would like you to respect me, and stop asking me to edit myself down for your personal viewing.

That is all.

T-Shirt orders are being shipped out all this week! 🙂 If you want to order your Just Breathe Tee, email me to see if your size is available. Also, follow Anna-lee and Jesse on Youtube! They are so fantastic.

Thank Y’all.

Finally, I am home. I have nothing left but exhaustion, and happiness. This was such a perfect trip! I wanted to thank my readers, and the PH Association for making it possible. This was an absolute highlight of my life. Most of you followed on Facebook, and Instagram, and thank you for that! I am so glad you got to see the events unfold online. To those who I finally met in person, that was such an uplifting experience. As most of you know, I was nominated for the Young PHA’s Outstanding Citizen Award which still baffles me. I watched so many other PH’ers get on stage to accept their awards, only to hear about all the amazing things they’ve done. They are some PHenomenal people doing PHenomenal things! It was hardcore proof of the importance of connecting with other people who are affected by the same disease as you. Get involved! It will change things. Congrats to all of those who accepted an award, got to attend conference, had an amazing time, branched out, and learned. Everyone has done amazing job in the PH community.

As I’m coming up on my fourth year anniversary of being diagnosed, I’m reflecting heavily on my original feelings towards this disease. How absent I was, blank, unresponsive, and I possessed not an ounce of fight. When you are diagnosed with anything it’s really starting a challenge of overcoming yourself. That sounds easy; you know you better than anyone else. Except, most people leave out one huge detail about a diagnosis. You are no longer you anymore. From day one, you are wearing a completely new skin, adapting to what feels like a completely new body, treatments, a new circle of people (or survivors) and everything you thought you once knew about yourself is dust. Well, some of it. Now you will be tested on your mental, and emotional strength, how far will you go to physically overcome, and to one day make it to an infinitive finish line called “survivor.” Overcoming yourself is not easy; it’s the hardest thing you will go through. In the meantime remember, that mental dominates physical. If you can understand, comprehend, and get a handle on this mentally…your body will catch up. Mind over matter. I had to dominate my own self, swallow pride, not listen to certain thoughts, cut certain people out, let doctors in, and really figure out what it is I exactly needed. It really is possible to pull yourself out of that dark place. The only thing keeping you down is you. Look at yourself and heavily evaluate what is going on, and what needs to be changed. It took almost four years exactly to get somewhat on the right track. You will fall off every now and then, or take a wrong turn. I struggle mentally, emotionally, and physically. This is a lifetime disease, and until we can get that cure, it will be a lifetime battle. Find the will to live, and hold onto it. There is beauty in this struggle. Who knew I would get to wear glitzy shoes, and accept a ridiculously heavy glass award, meet fans, take pictures, stay in a four star hotel, have people ask me questions, and have my face and story all over the world because of PH? Quite frankly, I’m thankful.

Train your mind to see the good. Mind over matter. Thank you to everyone for showing me the good side of PH! Its been a trip. Pictures are below! Thank y’all again.

Fashion Friday Favorites!

Its FRIDAY y’all! Get happy! Friday Favorites are something I love doing, but when is the last time I did fashion friday? Today you’re getting two in one. How special! Friday favorites are existent to encourage you to branch out, and try new things. That makes life just a little more fun. Fashion Fridays are geared to help us with our bodies, and things we might be suffering from as patients. Onward!

FRIDAY FAVORITES

-Music

How did y’all know?! Of course its the Fault in Our Stars soundtrack! The directors, and whoever else did an amazing job with music just like the movie itself. This is something I was most worried about because I am a huge music person. I wanted my already favorite movie ever to have a fabulous soundtrack with unknown songs. They are so fantastic! I’m having a hard time deciding my favorite, but overall, I cant wait to have this on Vinyl.

tfiosmovie

-Makeup

I’ve invested in so much makeup lately, I do not know where to start. I think the more you experiment and get used to makeup, the more crazy you get. LimeCrime is probably my favorite to glance at, and finally I ordered some of their product the other day. They have extremely bright colors (even PH colored lipstick!) and I ordered the Black Velvet matte lipstick. BLACK?! Yes, black. I’m extremely excited to wear this “color” and test the high quality of this brand. So far, its had fantastic reviews. I’ve checked my mailbox fifty times already this morning since its supposedly out for delivery. I’ll post follow-up photos on Instagram if you are curious!

-Book

Lord have mercy y’all. I’m in the process of trying to read like five books at one time. I’m really trying to get through An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, because anything by that man is amazing. I’m also fixing to start something called Never Let Me Go that a friend suggested. I also want to read Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Empire of the Summer Moon. Thats my ridiculously long reading list right now!

-Clothing– FASHION FRIDAY – FAT ANKLE SUMMER FASHION

Honestly, like with makeup, I’ve bought a ton of new clothes lately. This whole new trend with these flowy bohemian printed pants is absolute perfect summer fashion. No restrictive jeans, no shorts so you can hide your legs if you want, and if you’re swollen they hide your ankles! However, these printed pants are a little tricky. Unless you are a literal stick, you HAVE to try them on. They can hug in all the wrong areas almost 100 percent on the time. The super stretch spandex ones (mainly found at boutiques) will hug every crevice on your body, and out line every area. Beware. You really want to find the pants made of actual cloth, like cotton, and what not. I’ve only found one pair that hugs my legs in a good way, fits comfy, doesn’t outline weird areas, BUT are ridiculously long so I’m about to cut them. They are by Billabong, and were worth the investment. So if you are looking to spice up your wardrobe, remain comfortable, and hide some summer Edema, look into these lovely things! Pair with a neutral top that is not baggy, or printed. Remember, ALWAYS try them on!

-Show

I jumped on the Meth bandwagon…and started watching Breaking Bad. I wasnt too impressed at first, but it definitely has me hooked! If only I was making that kind of money to pay off my medical bills. It is a little rough, but its the kind of twisted that you end up swallowed in. Plus Aaron Paul? Um…Yeah, B*tch! (You’ll get that later.)

breakingbad

-Indy

Words cannot describe how excited I am to experience a new state, city, and to meet PH patients in person! It’s insane to me how the same month TFiOS comes out, I’m going to the exact city it took place in, and filmed! Lord have mercy. I encourage everyone to travel as much as they can. Make the arrangements, and stay safe while traveling! It’s not worth to sit at home. It’s a beautiful life; get out and see it before it’s over.

-Nail Polish

It may be summer, but I still can’t get into the swing of a bright polish. I’ve been wearing a lot of white, and just bought a new Essie polish titled, “Bahama Mama.” It sounds like summer, but it’s actually a pretty dark shade as well. I know, I know…but I don’t care.

-Accessory

I’ll just throw it out there that Texas is the best, hahahaha. Besides that fact, the state shape itself is just awesome and the most identifiable. I’ve been searching for a tiny little Texas necklace for a while now, and finally found one yesterday in a  small town boutique. Its perfect! You can shop on Etsy if need be to invest in your state pride.

Processed with VSCOcam with x1 preset

It was a somewhat short Friday Favorites, and Fashion Friday all rolled into one! Enjoy your Friday loves! I’m going to continue to drink coffee, listen to the TFiOS soundtrack, and repair myself emotionally. There is a reason its the number one movie in America right now! See some of y’all at conference. GET EXCITED!

Fabulous Friday Favorites.

Happy Friday lovelies! You made it to the end of this week, we’re going to make it a fabulous weekend, and smile like crazies. 🙂 I don’t even know anymore. Its been a rough couple of days, but a week ago today I was in a hospital bed. I don’t know what can be worse sometimes? Needles, and people monitoring how much you pee, or dealing with people who betray you? Hmm. Anyways! Its Friday favorites time because it’s been a while, and I’m not quite feeling fashionable. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this type of post, I do it to encourage you to branch out and try new things! Soo, lets jump right into it!

MUSIC

I’ve been on a Fleetwood Mac kick like nobodies business. Seriously, they are timeless. When you want to feel happy, you can turn on a song like Gypsy, and when you feel like crying you can listen to Silver Springs. I’ve done my fair share of crying! And come on, Stevie Nick’s fashion? WHO can get over that? Purely amazing. I would love to be her, right now please.

MAKEUP

This sounds crazy, but I got Chella blue eyeliner in my Ipsy bag last month. What is Ipsy? For ten bucks a month you get this cute little bag, and awesome makeup designed around your preferences delivered to your door. My bag for this month is on its way, and I’m excited! My first bag did not disappoint me! Primers, eyeshadow, then blue eyeliner. I know, you probably just rolled your eyes. I literally just read an article (I think in Glamor) about how blue liners are in style, and fun to play with. This brand of blue liquid liner is AMAZING! Goes on clean, easy to apply, and a fabulous shade. It looks very chic, and yes I wear it all the time. If you want to see what all the buzz is about on Ipsy, or join, you can check it out here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/7aj7. It’s a great deal, and a great thing to treat yourself to once a month, even for younger girls. 🙂

BOOK

I’ve been attempting at getting involved on Hitrecord. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s an open collaborative company that was started by (the amazing) Joseph Gordon-Levitt. His ideas are brilliant, and what makes Hitrecord brilliant is these just aren’t his ideas. People from all over the world submit writings, pictures, designs, audio, videos, and they turn it into a TV episode, or create stories, or BOOKS, or songs. Its fantastic. Check it out if you’re an artist, or think you might want to contribute. I’m excited to read this open collaborative book that came out (three now, I believe) The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories.

CLOTHING

I am so beyond obsessed with kimonos. They are so in style right now, and I hope they never go out of style. They make a statement, they’re comfortable, they’re artistic, they are everything. You can find one that I’m sure would interest your style pretty much everywhere. Forever 21, Etsy, and if you are willing to spend big bucks, Free People. Channel your inner Stevie Nicks, and sport a kimono.

SHOW

My inner 90’s streak has been peaking through this month, and I’ve been watching 3rd Rock From The Sun almost nonstop. The humor is fantastic especially on a bad day! Sit down, and watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s sass mouth, and long hair cheer you up. I never thought alien humor could ever interest me.

NAIL POLISH

This month has been so crazy that I don’t even have an official favorite nail polish picked out. But, I’ve been wearing nothing but bright pink on my nails to make me look tan. So, such brands as Piggy Polish, and China Glaze have great neon-like options. You do need to be prepared to have a glossy top coat ready (you should have that anyways) because they don’t say on the bottles, but most of these colors will dry matte. AKA, no shine. So, prepare thyself!

chinaglaze

MOVIE

I warned you about the 90’s streak….but I’m so in love with 10 Things I Hate About You. If you, or your daughter is having a sucky day, pop this flick in and enjoy Heath Ledgers adorableness, as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Such cuties, and the perfect 90’s comedy. Rest in peace Heath.

DRINK

Seriously, I haven’t been drinking a lot lately, or going out. I’ve hit an exhaustion period with my PH where all I want to do is lay around the house. However, when I did go out, my friend Jess always gets me a White Russian. Vodka, Kahlua, and milk. Delicious.

ITEM

Like I said, this has been a super chill month, and I wish I had better answers for y’all. But, my favorite and most used item this month would be my Betsey Johnson cards. I’ve been sending out Thank you to loves who have helped me, and what not, and I’ve loved writing actual letters. Plus, who wouldn’t be excited to write with a Betsey Johnson stationary?! You can find the collection at your local Michael’s store.

betseystationary

Okay loves! I know I wasn’t super exciting, but its the end of the week, and we are all tired! Celebrate, smile, and relax. Dont forget TODAY is the LAST DAY to participate in the current contest!! Check out the CONTEST TAB for more details!! 🙂

I Have No Fear; I Have Only Love.

Isn’t it crazy that after a while we don’t even feel alive anymore? After diagnosis, we spend almost every day of our lives PHighting to stay alive, yet after all this exhausting work we don’t even feel alive. We are numb; numb to hospitals, numb to needles, numb to bad news, and eventually numb to any type of emotion that requires work. How do we find ourselves on the track to living life, and feeling alive once again? Lets work on that this week.

stevie

Obviously when we have to “fight” for things in our life we get pretty tired. Putting up a fight, I mean, doesn’t that prove our love for something? Fighting to stay alive because it’s so precious, fighting to keep someone in our lives because we love them so much, fighting to prove our points, fighting off feelings? Soon, you just realize there is too much fight, and not enough life. I think this society has glamorized “fighting” for things, as if it’s so “sweet”, and makes it seem worth it. What about relaxing? What about enjoying life? What about things unfolding organically, and naturally? What about someone who you don’t have to work on keeping in your life? That sounds pretty brilliant to me. Let me put it this way; I’ve fought for pretty much everything, including my life, obviously. I’ll be doing that the rest of my time until these medical geniuses find a cure. I don’t have time to fight for anything else. That goes for people who aren’t even suffering from some type of disease.

Life is so incredibly short. The only things you should be fighting off are dark feelings, dark people, dark demons, and of course for what you believe in. Dont confuse that with fighting for other people. Fighting for them to be present, fighting for them to understand, and fighting for them to love you. There is no time, no energy, and nothing else that needs to be wasted on fighting. I will not fight a feeling; if I have it, I express it, and what happens from there happens. I don’t drown my feelings out, I feel them full on no matter how awful they may be. How I deal with that is a different story. I wont fight to prove a point, I merely state my point, and I’m done. Above all, I will never fight to keep anyone, no matter how important, in my life. I only have so much room in my heart, and that’s precious. I caught myself these past two weeks fighting for other people, fighting feelings, and fighting against myself. Never again. Let life happen. Feel Free. I feel pretty alive right now, and I’m not fighting; not one bit.

-haley.

Check out the NEW contest, and our song of the week Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac.

An Artist?

So this is coming to you midweek. Goodness! Its been extremely difficult recovering from spring break, and forcing myself to work once again. Until then, I hope everyone is fabulous.

While speaking with a publisher this week on (hopefully) the future of my novel being in actual bookstores, he asked me what I do for a living. I’m the twenty-one year old college dropout (because I have no money), working for simple cash, being uncommitted, and I’m writing on the side. I sound like a should be dancing in a field with Jim Morrison, and daisy’s strung throughout my wild hair. That actually sounds fabulous, but when speaking with a publisher you really want to sound powerful. When I heard the words “blogger” spill out of my mouth, I realized how vague I sounded. It felt awful too because my blog is extremely important to me, and its my life. This is what I want to DO with my life, and its my art quite honestly. It really sucks that everyone, literally everyone, and their mom has decided to take up on this so-called art.

yes

Now, lets back up a bit. I’m all for art. I want children, adults, scientists, and their best friends to love art. I hate what education has become which is really not learning at all, or wanting children to feel free. It’s about turning them into little mathematical and English reading specialists. Personally, I think we should all be painting, and studying life…which is why I just can’t work in education anymore. Basically, I’m an artistic advocate nut. Its crucial, at least in my life. Art isn’t something everyone wants to do, and those people who pursue it can do amazing things. There are a lot of artists out there, and different types of artists that make it extremely hard to get recognition. There are artists that are having fun, some stumbled upon their profession, and then there are those who are actively chasing this dream. I guess I stumbled, and immediately started chasing. I’m trying to improve myself, my thought process, my words, my time, my blog, myself, others, and I love what I’m doing. I take it very seriously. Its art; I live it, breathe it, speak it, and appreciate it. Its my life.

With all that being said, I’m incredibly proud of the people who want to be artists, and come to me asking for blog advice because they want to start a one. It’s an incredible thing to know your words (hopefully) reach people. For me, even if it’s just one its amazing, and fulfilling. However, I do have one piece of advice. Writing is an act of faith; it’s an art. All writing is different, just like paintings. Picasso does not look like Leonardo da Vinci. They are a bit distinctive, but they worked their poor insane asses off not even knowing they would be in textbooks. If this is not a faith to you, or an art, then double think what you would be doing, and what you would be typing away about. Your time, your words, and your dedication will be vastly important. I take my art seriously, because it can be scary. That’s what bugs me about people who say, “Art is fun, don’t take it so seriously!” It is amazing, and fun, but its a way of life! It’s a grinding your teeth, crying over characters you made up, upsetting sometimes, all time beautiful endorphin rush that is comparable to a runners marathon. It’s ridiculously difficult, and amazing. Art is not just about appreciation, being poor, dubbed as insane, but about compromise and exposure. You are compromising your lifestyle, money, health, and sanity to expose your feelings, and make sure they appear beautiful in a way not only to yourself, but others. This is a profession; this is the only life I know. Thats how I call myself a blogger, and an artist.

Fashion Friday: Always On Time, Sort Of?

Well, here’s a little post to lighten things up on the blog. My views will never change, and its so refreshing to see y’alls comments, and sharing your stories with me. I love to see that there are real people out there that had to deal with real problems.

Moving forward! As always!

Happy Fashion Friday! After all this nasty talk, fashion is a for sure cheer up. Lately, I’ve gotten so many compliments and just people in general noticing my giant gold watch. I’m not kidding when I said its giant. I was super inspired by my favorite fashion vlogger, Claire Marshall, and the giant gold watch always on her wrist.

photo(12)As seen here, and her lovely cat Bruce! Y’all can follow her on Instagram or Youtube @heyclaire

When I was still working in retail a couple of months ago, there was a mens watch, gold, huge, and everything I needed. I, of course snagged it up, and I absolutely love it! Yes, its HUGE, but its fabulous. Claire’s I think is in fact a mens watch as well. Anyways, back to actually wearing the watch. A watch should be versatile, as well as add a sophisticated touch to your wardrobe. I hate seeing the giant colored ones, and what not (unless you are Betsey Johnson), so always keep your wardrobe in mind. Nina Garcia frequently wears mens watches as well because its very chic for a woman to be able to wear a mens wardrobe with elegance, and it can even be a tease. Hints the 80’s look that slammed our runways around ’84, and is still popular these days.

I love my gold watch. Keep your eyes peeled, and if you find a mens you love do not be afraid to throw it into your wardrobe. Chic and sophistication at its finest. Thank you to my wonderful co-worker, Anthony, who had to take a billion links out of it to fit. Have a fantastic Fashion Friday my loves!
